Is it the same as GTA: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition?
No. GTA: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition is the official Rockstar Games collection of three games: GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas. Trilogy Hub is a separate, independent project that adds multiplayer to one of them, GTA: San Andreas Definitive Edition on PC.
Trilogy Hub is not a game or a new version of one. It contains no game files and does not change them, so you need your own copy of GTA: San Andreas Definitive Edition from Steam or the Rockstar Store. It does not work with GTA III or Vice City, or with the console and mobile versions.
What is Trilogy Hub made of?
- Launcher - a Windows app with your account, friends list, chat and server list. The PLAY button starts the game and connects you to the server you picked.
- In-game multiplayer - runs while you play and does not change game files. After you leave a server, the game is exactly as it was before.
- Servers - every server is its own world, and its Lua scripts decide what happens in it. You can start your own server from the launcher and publish it on the list.
- Lua documentation - functions and events for server creators, with examples: documentation.
How is Trilogy Hub different from MTA:SA?
They are two separate projects for different versions of the game. MTA:SA runs on the original GTA San Andreas, Trilogy Hub runs on the Definitive Edition (Unreal Engine 4). You write scripts in Lua in a similar style, but a ready MTA:SA resource needs a review, because not every function has a counterpart. More in Trilogy Hub vs MTA:SA.
How do I start playing?
- Buy GTA: San Andreas Definitive Edition for PC (Steam or the Rockstar Store).
- Download the Trilogy Hub launcher and install it.
- Create an account, pick a server from the list and click PLAY.
Who makes Trilogy Hub?
Trilogy Hub is an independent fan project from Poland. It is not affiliated with Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive or the Multi Theft Auto project.
