Computes the SHA-256 hash of text (64 hex characters, upper case).

Syntax

string sha256(string str)

Arguments

strstring: The text.

Returns

The hash or false.

Example

local sum = sha256(fileGetContents("mapa.map") or "")

md5Computes the MD5 hash of text (32 hex characters, upper case). Do not use it for passwords; use passwordHash for them.
hashComputes the hash of text with a chosen algorithm: md5, sha1, sha224, sha256, sha384 or sha512. The result is hexadecimal.
